Brenda Balsiger is the Business Journal's National Sales Manager. Her primary goals are to service the needs of current advertisers and to generate new business by promoting greater national awareness of the burgeoning economic climate in Orange County.
After a successful career in cable television sales, Brenda decided to focus her talents on print media. Prior to joining the Orange County Business Journal, Brenda was an account executive for the Los Angeles office of New York-based A&E Television Networks. She also worked in sales for several television stations in the San Francisco market.

Barbara Boczek, Director of Events & Supplements Editor, joined the Business Journal in 2000 and has been instrumental in expanding the event calendar from one annual event, The Women in Business Awards, to four, including the highly regarded Family Owned Business and Excellence in Entrepreneurship awards along with the Journal's newest recognition program, OC's Fast-Growing Private Companies. Barbara is also responsible for editing approximately 50 advertising supplements published by the Journal each year, which feature a wide range of topics and industries of interest to the OC business community.
Barbara earned her B.A. in English from Cleveland State University and has worked in a number of fields including government, education, television, pharmaceuticals and publishing. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she lived in South Bend, Indiana and Portage, Michigan before moving with her family to Rancho Santa Margarita, California in 1997.

Erin Boczek joined the Business Journal in 2006. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2002 with a degree in Global and International Studies. Erin is the advertising coordinator as well as the assistant to the Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the account managers, trafficking ads, and working with the production department to lay out the paper.

Bobby Dorman specializes in assisting computer hardware and software companies, video and videoconferencing firms, health
clubs, seminars and conferences, entertainment firms and auto dealerships with their advertising needs. He
also moonlights as a vocalist in local Orange County night clubs and performs at local events.

Previously she was publisher for an international trade magazine and spent fourteen years as a top producer for Pacific Business News in Hawaii. Steve Gall has spent the past 17 years at the Business Journal working with clients who advertise in the following categories: healthcare, residential homebuilding, the hotel and travel industry, golf courses, sports teams and publications. A communications graduate of Cal State Fullerton, Steve came to the Journal from KDOC-TV, where he held the position of advertising account executive.

After completing a B.A. in Mass Communications abroad in Australia,
Elizabeth Gaxiola-Watt came home to LA and began a career in media marketing. After a decade of rock concert tour promotions, TV production and international film distribution, she got married and moved South to the OC seeking the normalcy of a suburban life. She joined the Business Journal as an Advertising Account Manager in January 2003 and handles the categories of Insurance Brokers, S&Ls, Trust Companies, Management Consultants, Economic Development and Disaster Preparedness.

Jayne Kennedy Event Coordinator, joined the Business Journal in 2002. She helps coordinate OCBJ events, including Women in Business, Family Owned Business, Excellence in Entrepreneurship, OC's Fast-Growing Private Companies and CFO of the Year Awards Luncheon. Jayne has been instrumental in expanding the event nominees, sponsors and attendees. Jayne is a native of Lafayette, Indiana, and received her B.A. in public relations from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
Jayne remains a very loyal Purdue University "Boilermaker" alum and represents Purdue at Los Angeles and Orange County high school college fairs. She is also involved with “California Hoosiers”—everyone is originally from Indiana and now lives in Southern California.

Kristin Walters Joined the Business Journal family in March of 2005 after graduating from the Eller College of Business Management at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. With a major in marketing, Kristin found the perfect opportunity with the Orange County Business Journal as the Marketing Assistant, to begin her career. Kristin's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the national sales manager with ad tracking and reports, assisting the event team in the planning and organizing of the Business Journal's special events, and supporting the sales staff.
