Chapman University said Microsemi Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive James Peterson has been elected to its Board of Trustees.
Board members support the university’s vision and mission, provide insight and guidance on academic and administrative programs, participate in fundraising, and help develop partnerships that enhance the university’s education programs.
Chapman board members hold three-year terms.
Aliso Viejo-based Microsemi is the largest OC-based chipmaker with annual sales of about $1.2 billion. Peterson has been the chief executive of the company since December 2000.
